So about 2 years ago, i decided to build a new computer. I was upgrading from an old 700 Mhz Dell something or other. I was on the most ludicrous of budgets so i built a computer around a AMD 3100+ and a case of what i have come to find out is aluminum foil. I built the tower for about $250. 1 GB ram, SATA drive, GeForce something.
So what could go wrong in a $250 system? Everything. The SATA drive regularly ticks and hiccups, and to remedy this, i used to switch between the two plugs on the motherboard.. until one of the plugs broke. So now i have to jiggle the cord, or give the computer a gentle smack.
The long-winded point is, today my system restarted and the C: partition of that drive was blank.
In all my years of having a computer, I’ve never had a data loss. Today I lost a lot. I still had a folder of some backup stuff from my last (purposed) reformat so I have an old bookmarks file and a few other essentials. Sigh. Now i rebuild.
Quickly, my sister (read me), is getting evicted. Stupid “rent”. Also, smarmy. You know a word is obscure when you google it and nothing returns but definitions. Without knowing what it means, do you think you’re smarmy?
